There are about 25 children in the clinic everyday for many things.  Some of the children are there to seek medical attention, and others are there sitting with their parents or other family members.  I also see many of the same children outside of the clinic everyday who do not attend school, and they basically hang out and beg for money.  I remember several occasions where I have asked how long they had been at the clinic.  Many will reply that they have been there since 7 in the morning.  Let me remind you that I arrive at the clinic at 2 in the afternoon.  Most of the children will sit inside on the floor playing with empty food containers, and others will play outside in the dirt.  All I can think of is how I would sit in the children's corner of the clinic as a child.  I remember reading Highlights Magazines and playing with the maze game with the wooden slide things on it.  I remember having a little bit of fun while I was waiting.  Not to mention I was being creative with my time, and probably learning something. Katie and I would love to see something for the kids at the clinic.  Our vision is to create a children's corner where they can have fun and be creative at the same time.  We would love to have books, coloring books, crayons, puzzles, and various items that could keep the kids busy and entertained. We have also been granted permission to paint a little section of the clinic wall with chalkboard paint.  I know the children would love to color with chalk on the wall!  Katie and I would love for everyone to help us make our vision a reality for the clinic.  If anyone has anything they would love to contribute to this ministry, we would gladly appreciate it.  You can mail it to us in Jeffreys Bay or you can give it to me while I am home for Christmas.  Thanks for all of your prayers and encouraging emails.
