Greetings from Jeffrey's Bay!  I have finally arrived, and things are beginning to settle down.  Last Saturday my teammates and I did a cross-country trip from Pretoria, S.A.  It was pretty exhausting, but very interesting at the same time.  South Africa has some very beautiful scenery.  For example, take a second to picture a crystal clear beach with sand that feels like velvet.  (Velvet is probably not a very accurate description.  Just stay with me on this one.)   Now I want you to picture mountains in background of the beach. Now try to feel the breeze moving through your hair, and try to hear the Beach Boys playing in the background.  If you were participating in my little exercise this would be J-Bay.  J-Bay sort of reminds me of a modern Gidget surf town.  It is home to the Billabong Pro Surf Tournament, and home to the largest amount of great white sharks in the world.  On the other hand, J-Bay also has several townships.  Townships are basically communities that are constructed of scrap metal and anything that can be used to build homes.   Usually a city has some sort of gray area.  Here in J-Bay there is no gray area.  It is black and white.  There is no in between.   Let me explain….Every city has an upper, middle, and lower class section of town.  J-Bay goes from upper to lower very fast.  When I say fast I mean fast.  I can stand in the downtown district of town and cross the street to a township.
For the next couple of weeks I will be going to all of my different internship options.  The options are the clinic, Itemba, The Joshua Project, home visitations, or J.O.T.   The Pellsrus Clinic internship will consist of taking patients blood pressure and assisting the nurses with paper work.  Itemba is a community center that has a childrens program in the afternoon for kids between the ages of 3-8ish.  The Joshua Project is a teen program.  It reminds me a lot of the Boys and Girls Club.  Home visitations will be made to patients with AIDS and to the elderly.  Jesus Out Teacher (J.O.T.)  is a course at the local primary school.  It is basically a bible class for middle school aged kids.  I would love for all of you to pray for me as I make my decision about my internship.  Please pray that God would reveal His heart to me as I prepare to go full force into ministry here in Jeffrey's Bay.
Thank You so much for all of your support and prayers.  (Philippians 1:3)
